Candle Making
Space and scent have a way of turning ordinary moments into little rituals of care. In this Gather, you’ll explore the various fragrance, discover the moods different scents can evoke, and pour your own candles to bring a little warmth and intention into your everyday spaces. Whether you come solo or with a friend, enjoy a glass of wine as you create. One vessel and all candle-making supplies are provided; bring 1–2 small containers from home (mug-sized or smaller) to give new life to something you already love. You’ll leave with 2–3 hand-poured soy wax candles, made by you and meant to make home feel a little more like a sanctuary.

Katie is a maker, host, and lover of gathering people around all things creative. From hosting events at Neighbor, a nonprofit creative space in Chelsea, to teaching her own candle-making and ceramics classes, Katie’s practice is rooted in a simple belief that creativity is always more fun together.
Whether it’s making a set of ceramic dishes for the next dinner party or christening a special plate for a solo night in, Katie is drawn to our everyday rituals that make a home (and life) as meaningful as possible. Working in the home goods space in a city like New York, where space is almost always limited, she embraces the idea that we might own less, but cherish more: making things that are worth using, keeping, and giving a little more shelf space to.
